Kenwood: A Quaint Neighborhood in the Calhoun-Isles Community
Located just southwest of the downtown area, Kenwood is an exceptional place to call home.

What It’s Like Living in Kenwood
This community features roughly 540 residential structures, most of which are single-family homes dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Kenwood became largely popular starting around the 1980s and 1990s because residents recognized the value of the homes in the community as well as its convenient location to downtown, uptown and the various parks in the Minneapolis park and lake system.
It is also coveted because of its strong sense of community.
For instance, a crime and safety committee helps promote safety throughout the neighborhood and the National Night Out celebration is always well-attended.
As for recreational amenities, this community has plenty of attractions.
In addition to Lake of the Isles and Cedar Lake, there are a ton of outstanding natural areas to enjoy.
Have a sports enthusiast in the family? Kenwood Park (which is located in the northern portion of the neighborhood), features baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, a playground and plenty of natural, open spaces.
Kenwood is also full of famous landmarks. The 1910 brick water tower on Kenwood Parkway as well as Peavey Fountain at the intersection of West Lake of the Isles Parkway and Kenwood Parkway.
There’s even the Mary Tyler Moore House, which is located at the SW corner of Kenwood Parkway and West 21st Street.
